“I feel lost, and I don’t know if this pain will ever leave me…..”

I  was abused from age 7 to 20. No one in my life knows except doctors/counsellors/helplines or the occasional Samaritan. I carry on every day like I'm absolutely fine. No one would ever know.   It's almost like having two lives which makes me very sad. I was...

I Came as a Survivor, now I am an Abassador

I initially came to foundation as a survivor that needed help. The only service that was helping me at the time was recovery, I had been laughed at by a few police officers and a member of the council had labelled me she was at that children’s home a home where I was...

I still struggle with the frustrations that the police did a ‘half-assed’ job and that monster is still walking the streets, free to do whatever he likes…..

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story. It has been almost 11 years since this happened to me, and I have never tried to deal with it. I just tucked it away in a little box in my mind and hoped that it would go away. Recently I took the first steps...

The Maggie Oliver Foundation Book Club

May 8 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Book club fundraiser hosted by the author Maggie Oliver. An opportunity to discuss the issues raised in ‘Survivors’ with Maggie herself.

About this Event

The Maggie Oliver Foundation is delighted to invite you to our very first book club event! Join our wonderful founder and author of this month’s book, Maggie Oliver, in our interactive event to answer all of your burning questions.

Maggie has been through huge turmoil throughout her life, but she has turned her own ‘pain into power’ in the form of her Foundation, helping adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse to move on with their lives.

Her book demonstrates just how difficult it can be to stand up for what you believe is right, against a criminal justice system which often lacks empathy or decency towards children and young people who are suffering abuse. This event offers you the chance to read along with others and get to know the now famous detective turned whistle-blower. Read this illuminating book at your leisure before the 8th may, and then join us on the day when you will have the unique opportunity to ask Maggie questions about the book, The Foundation and much more during our live event.

Bring your thoughts as well as your favourite hot beverage and then settle in for what promises to be a great event and an in-depth discussion with someone who has risked it all in pursuit of justice.

Our event is in aid of The Maggie Oliver Foundation and each ticket sold enables the foundation to support more survivors. For more information about The Maggie Oliver Foundation please visit our website:

The event will be held virtually on Zoom so please remember to register for a free account beforehand so you can access the event easily on the day (
