Three Girls Workshop part 1
February 23 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm£10
The BAFTA award winning BBC mini-series Three Girls was a landmark for British television, bringing the issues of child grooming and authority failures to public attention, and as part of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness week 2021 we are pleased to announce an accompanying workshop taking place later this month.
On 23rd & 25th February 2021, The Maggie Oliver Foundation will be hosting an interactive online workshop which will feature the drama in full along with the opportunity to discuss with Maggie Oliver herself. Maggie acted as Programme Consultant for Three Girls following her resignation from Greater Manchester Police, and exposed these issues to the nation as part of her fight for justice and to support survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation.
The workshop will be suited to a wide range of people – from students studying social/criminal justice to those working in education, health or social care.. or anyone who cares deeply about these issues.
It will consist of two sessions and you will receive a certificate of completion for completing all four hours- great to add to your CV.
Session one (23rd Feb 7:30pm – 9:30pm) will be watching episodes one and two of Three Girls via Netflix Party giving the opportunity to engage in debates and educational talks throughout.
Session two (25th Feb 7:30pm-9:30pm) will be the final episode of Three Girls followed by a workshop on Zoom with Maggie Oliver herself.
This event will focus on topics of grooming, sexual abuse, issues within the criminal justice system and how you can support the Maggie Oliver Foundation to help survivors.
Full £10 payment will be donated to The Maggie Oliver Foundation and places are limited to just 50 attendees.
