Our founder and Chair, Maggie Oliver, is best known as the detective-turned-whistleblower who resigned from Greater Manchester Police in late 2012 to expose the now infamous Rochdale Grooming Scandal.
Maggie’s exceptional ability to connect with survivors and encourage them to speak out against injustice combined with her courage, determination, and unwavering commitment to the truth played a vital role in bringing the scandal to light.
Her work led to her role as a Programme Consultant on the multi-award-winning BBC One dramatisation Three Girls, which helped raise public awareness of the case for the first time. Maggie was also a key contributor to the critically acclaimed BBC One documentary The Betrayed Girls.
Our Values
Maggie’s commitment to supporting victims of child exploitation continues to this day, as she remains a tireless advocate for justice and change. In 2019, she founded The Maggie Oliver Foundation (TMOF), with a mission to help survivors transform their pain into power.
Maggie has set her vision in motion, building an amazingly caring, supportive and understanding team. A team who all share the same values and a fierce determination to make a real difference in the lives of survivors of childhood sexual abuse

Our Mission
TMOF’s mission is to empower survivors of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) to create a positive ripple effect through society.
Survivors are supported on their recovery journey (improved wellbeing, life choices and prospects) and build the strength and resilience to support others on their path to recovery.
Sharing of their experiences of how the criminal justice system and statutory services have failed them leads to improved practices when dealing with victims of CSAE and as a result, more victims feel safe and confident in seeking justice.
By sharing our stories and experiences we expose and address injustice, misuse of power and corruption wherever we find it.
