Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us to help survivors turn their Pain into Power.
We call our volunteers Ambassadors because they are passionate representatives of The Maggie Oliver Foundation and of all survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation.
We know that building trusting relationships can play a powerful role in recovery from trauma.
By volunteering with us, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference, offering understanding, hope, and support to survivors as they rebuild their lives.
We welcome applications from a wide range of applicants.
You don’t need previous experience or qualifications, you just need to be non-judgemental, accepting and reliable.
In order to safeguard our Ambassadors and survivors, phoneline applicants will undergo a criminal record check. If you have a criminal record, this is not necessarily a barrier to volunteering with us. Your case will be considered on an individual basis.
We have zero tolerance for anyone who tries to take advantage of the vulnerable people who contact us.
We appreciate you considering applying to be an Ambassador with The Maggie Oliver Foundation. In return for your commitment to us we will:
Provide regular updates and the latest news about the Foundation and its work.
In addition to providing emotional support for survivors through our Pain into Power service, there are many other meaningful ways to support The Maggie Oliver Foundation as an Ambassador — including fundraising, raising awareness, and being a visible advocate for change.
If you would like to apply to join our fantastic team, please complete our application form here:
If your application is successful, you’ll be invited to interviews with members of our staff and volunteer team (two rounds).
If, after the interview, we feel like you’ll be a good fit, we’ll request DBS, social media and character reference checks.
