July 2025 - Jordan Sahota - 100km Race to the Stones

14 August 2025

From Maggie:

"I want to say a HUGE thank you to Jordan, who embarked on this super human challenge in July 2025 to raise funds for our important work at The Maggie Oliver Foundation! For us cheering him on at the end, it was an incredible moment to see him finally cross the finish line - after 16 hours of battling through intense heat, challenging terrain and physical pain. As he raised his hands in relief, and gritted his teeth through the pain, there were loud cheers from everyone standing in the darkness, waiting to welcome him!

It’s only through the support of special humans like Jordan that TMOF has been able to grow from a dream of one person to a team of almost 60, from a tiny acorn into a now established little oak tree…. It’s why we can help those who find themselves alone in their hours of most need. Without public support and donations, we truly would not be where we are now - changing lives for the better on a daily basis.

I want to extend to Jordan an enormous personal 'thank you', and to say that we are truly grateful for your efforts. And I promise that the money you’ve raised will be used to help us continue to go from strength to strength! 💕

And now, over to Jordan...

“Completing the 2025 100km ‘Race to the Stones’ was, without a doubt, the toughest yet the most rewarding achievement I have ever accomplished!
The 30°C heatwave on the day wasn’t exactly part of the plan, but in a strange and masochistic way, it all added to the challenge and made the finish all the more fulfilling.

I managed 70km before I truly “hit the wall’’, sunstroke crashing down as expected. But with the incredible support of the charity behind me, quitting was never an option in all honesty. Step by step, over hills and dales, fields and streams, light and darkness — somehow — without even a head torch, we finally made it to the finish line at midnight after 16 gruelling hours.

A huge thank you to everyone from the charity who made this possible, especially Maggie herself, Anita Goggins, and my Mum — Deborah Sahota. For now, it’s goodbye, until the next challenge!"
