An interview I did today with TalkTv regarding the ongoing saga around successive governments’ failure to tackle the national scandal that is “grooming gangs”.
They are all playing politics with children’s lives, and increasing the trauma for those survivors who have been repeatedly failed for decades….
We @TMOF have been fighting since January for leave to take the government to a Judicial Review to challenge them on their failure to implement the 20 IICSA recommendations made over 3 years ago.
Yesterday, after fighting for 10 months, we had the HUGE news that the judge handling this has given us leave to go to the Supreme Court in February to challenge this failure (and that of the previous conservative government).
This is a groundbreaking legal moment in this long battle for change….and I am extremely proud that our tiny little charity is leading on this and refusing to let those who are failing thousands of victims, survivors and children off the hook.
We are using the law to fight this battle, because in the end that’s all we have.
And I pray we win this as it’s a fight for truth, justice, honesty and transparency instead of lies, cover ups, false promises and powerful institutions intent on hiding the full magnitude of what’s been happening in our country…….
