During the first lockdown, Lucy finally got the time to listen to Maggie's book - Survivors. She had found the book hard-hitting, and it helped her become more aware of Maggie's story and vulnerable young girls. Also, her interest in The Foundation was raised after watching Celebrity Big Brother and the BBC drama - Three Girls. And within her role as a Primary Deputy Headteacher, she had attended CSE training.
"Lockdown #1 led to an inspired fundraising challenge."
Whilst listening to Maggie's story, Lucy felt angered and wanted to increase awareness and support The Foundation. After a Saturday night Zoom meeting with one of her best friends, the idea 'bins out-out' came up, as people couldn't go 'out-out' during the lockdown. She thought they could get dressed up and take a photo of themselves taking the bins out.
