Maggie Oliver on the impact of early release on historic abuse victims

Grooming gang whistleblower Maggie Oliver says victims are being “betrayed once again” because a loophole could allow some offenders convicted of historic child sex offences to be released after serving half their sentence.

Many of these offences happened before the law changed in 2003.

Some offenders were convicted under older laws, meaning they may not be covered by the Government’s rules preventing serious child sex offenders from early release. Broadcast on 10/08/2026.
