Maggie Oliver Has Won the 2024 Contrarian Prize
October 23rd 2024 is a night I’ll never forget! To actually win the 2024 Contrarian Prize was very humbling and a great honour.
This prize means everything to me. To be recognised for demonstrating “independence, courage and sacrifice” feels as though all these difficult years have been worth something. To be amongst so many who believe like I do in justice, truth, integrity, honesty and are willing to go the extra mile, felt truly amazing and a moment to cherish.
And incredibly as well as my birthday, it was exactly 27 years to the day since I signed my Oath of Attestation and proudly became a police officer, serving my community with GreaterManchesterPolice.
I never for one second knew how that decision would change my life forever, but now with my charity TheMaggieOliverFoundation and so many good people alongside me, we continue to do good in an often very bad world!
