We are incredibly proud to share that Maggie Oliver, Founder and Chair of The Maggie Oliver Foundation, has been nominated for the prestigious Women’s Awards National 2026 in the category of Outstanding Woman with Community Impact.
The Women’s Awards National celebrate the achievements of exceptional women from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland who have made a significant contribution to their communities, professions and society. A nomination is made in recognition of the respect and admiration of peers, acknowledging an individual's impact, dedication and leadership.
This nomination is a testament to Maggie’s unwavering commitment to survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation and her determination to challenge systems that fail to protect the most vulnerable. Following her courageous decision to expose failings in the investigation of child sexual exploitation while serving as a detective with Greater Manchester Police, Maggie has dedicated her life to ensuring survivors are heard, believed and supported.
In 2019, Maggie founded The Maggie Oliver Foundation, creating a survivor-led organisation providing emotional support, advocacy and opportunities for survivors to rebuild their lives. Since then, the Foundation has directly supported over 4,724 survivors and provided more than 1,033,88 minutes of support, helping thousands of people access the support, guidance and justice they deserve.
Alongside her work supporting individual survivors, Maggie has become a nationally recognised voice for change, campaigning for greater accountability, safeguarding reform and improvements in the way institutions respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation. More recently, she has been at the forefront of challenging the Government to take action on the recommendations of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA), ensuring that the experiences of survivors remain central to national discussions on reform and protection.
Those who know Maggie understand that her motivation has never been recognition or accolades. Instead, her work has always been driven by a deep belief that every survivor deserves dignity, compassion, justice and the opportunity to heal. This nomination reflects not only Maggie’s personal courage and determination, but also the strength and resilience of the many survivors whose voices continue to inspire change.
Everyone at The Maggie Oliver Foundation would like to congratulate Maggie on this well deserved recognition. We are honoured to work alongside a woman whose courage, integrity and commitment continue to make a lasting difference to the lives of survivors across the UK.

Congratulations, Maggie – your impact is extraordinary, and this recognition could not be more deserved.
